“Awake, awake! Put on your strength, O Zion; Put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city! For the uncircumcised and the unclean shall no longer come to you. Shake yourself from the dust, arise; Sit down, O Jerusalem! Loose yourself from the bonds of your neck, O captive daughter of Zion!” Isaiah 52:1, 2
Though God grants us salvation when we believe, which means total deliverance, prosperity, health, peace and victory, Paul tells us that salvation must be worked out. (Philippians 2:12)
This also applies to our hearts. The apostle Peter said, “Don’t be merely concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should be more focused on clothing yourselves with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God. 1 Peter 3:1-4
However, it would be useless to put beautiful garment on an ugly heart so before you do take the time to take off the old ugly garments of your past.
Jesus put it this way,
“No man puts a piece of a new garment upon an old; if otherwise, then both the new makes a tear, and the piece that was taken out of the new match with the old. And no man puts new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish. But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.” Luke 5:36-38
Ephesians 4:22-24 says, “Put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
The remedy for every issue of the heart is the same: take off what God says you don’t have to carry and clothe yourself in the promises He says belongs to you.
We change ourselves and our lives from the inside out by applying the truth to our hearts.
God’s Word will cleanse away the old and redress you in the new. Whatever you may be going on inside of your heart, I assure you the solution is the same – take off the old self with its corruption and put on the new self made in the image of God by adorning the inner you with God’s Word.
Beloved, by taking the time to adorn your heart with God’s Words of promise, grace, and true beauty each day you will radiate beauty from the inside out, just the way He intended for you to do.
