How it Works:
This 21 Day challenge is simple. Each day January 11 – January 31 2016, I will share a video with a scripture, a short devotional, and a simple prayer challenging you to search your heart, take off anything that is holding your back from reflecting Godâs definition of beauty and clothe your heart with the qualities that cultivate inner-beauty.
You can follow along here:21 Day Change the Garments of Your Heart Challenge
Using the hashtags #21DCGYH and #ootd you can share the videos and comment or create your own video and so we can encourage each other.
If you really want do an extreme challenge wear minimal or no make-up and use the hashtag #21DCGYHex.
Most women (myself included) are concerned with our outward appearance, and we should be because our appearance and our countenance is what draws people to us so that we can share Christ with them.
However, your outward appearance should never be more important than what’s going on inside your heart. Your countenance is a reflection of your heart. You can have a pretty face and be ugly, miserable, jealous, hurt, broken, bitter inside.
1 Peter 3:3-4 NIV says, âYour beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self (your heart), the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in Godâs sight.â
Isaiah 52:1 and 2 says, “Awake, awake! Put on your strength, O Zion; put on your beautiful garments,
for the uncircumcised and the unclean shall no longer come to you. Shake yourself from the dust, arise⦠loose yourself from the bonds of your neck, O captive daughter of Zion!”
Christianity is a daily commitment.
Just like you have to put clothes on your body every day, you have to put on Christ every day.
Many people start their year with challenges and fixes but most of them have to do with the outward appearance â cleanses, exercise, eating right and so on. These are awesome and needed!!! Beloved, this challenge is for your spirit!
