Trials Taught Me
1. You can be anointed and appointed, holy and humble and still have trouble hit your house.
Don’t think that just because you try to do everything right and serve God that trials won’t come. How arrogant was I to think that I would be exempt from fiery trials. Lukewarm will suddenly either becomes hot or cold. It’s up to each one to decide when trouble comes if we will draw back or enter in to greater faith.
Job said, “In all this Job did not sin nor charge God with wrong.” Job 1:22
2. You can’t let trials stop you from moving forward.
Trials are test – we either pass or fail according to our faith. Whether they come from God, satan, or your own mistakes, when you are serving God all things work together for the God. They are meant to mature our faith and sharpen our character. The devil would like believers to focus on their trials so they will backslide, become offended, or halt what they are doing for God. Don’t let trials overtake you, paralyze you, or stop you from doing what God called you to do. This doesn’t mean that you are not to deal with the issues that arise but don’t let them take over your life. Remember there is no trouble that is not common among man. Use your trials as an opportunity to bring glory to Jesus whether the world recognizes it or not.
Peter said, “In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.” 1 Peter 1:6-9
3. When we lean on Jesus during our storms supernatural strength and blessings are released to us.
Trouble could be breaking loose – literally all around you but if you learn to lean of Jesus, His supernatural strength and blessings will overtake you in your trials. What would have taken you down in your own strength actually becomes a source of strength, a reason to fight, a reason for faith. Present trials create a heavier weight of glory for future victory.
The sons of Korah said, “Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man whose strength is in You, in whose heart are the highways to Zion. Passing through the Valley of Weeping (Baca), they make it a place of springs; the early rain also fills [the pools] with blessings. They go from strength to strength [increasing in victorious power]; each of them appears before God in Zion.” Psalm 84:5-7 AMP
Beloved, we don’t look for trouble but when, not if, it comes we have One who is willing to get in the fire with us to keep us from getting burned. His name is Jesus.
