The goal of this life reset challenge is to get back into a place of consecration, which simply means living a life fully set apart for the Lord.
Not like a nun or priest, but as a person fully surrendered to the Lord. So yesterday I started the challenge early with a time of confession to the Lord. I confessed the things that I know I should or should not be doing that I haven’t changed yet. After I confessed to the Lord I was able to start my reset with a clean heart and a clear conscious toward God, fully focused, having let go of my cares. (see 1 John 1:9)
Reevaluating my priorities
Next I took an honest look at all my projects outside of my home because I already know what I’ve been called to do in my home but the fact of the matter is that sometimes I can get so busy doing things outside my home – including social media, my blog, writing, and ministry that I neglect what I’m supposed to be doing in my home.
So, I looked at the projects I have going on presently, those I have coming up, and those that people would like me to be involved in. I decided to only give my time into what I know God has called me to do and to only do the projects that will be most effective in reaching others with the message of the Gospel.
Tip: Some opportunities can be distractions so filter them through your God-given purpose.
Lots of opportunities for ministry have been offered to me but in this season of my life I have decided that I will only do the things I know is directly related to the things God has already told me to do so that I can finish strong the things I’ve started. In times past I did not know what I was supposed to be doing so I would say yes to things I later wished I wouldn’t have. Now that I know exactly what I’m supposed to be doing I’m more selective about what I do.
The Body of Christ
As a minister I am already committed to my local church’s prayer and women’s ministry so anything that I do on top of these must be with the assurance that I will be effective and not just BUSY.
Gift and Calling of Intercessory Prophetic Prayer
As an intercessor I have a new prayer assignment from the Lord that I will be focusing on, this means I can’t be involved in other prayer organizations in any leadership role because it takes TIME to go and be a part of things.
Gift and passion for writing
As a writer I have many books I would like to write but I can only write one at a time. So, I had to pick the project that I believe will be most effective in ministering to the people I connect with and that will add to what the Lord has already given me to do.
Today’s inspiration:
The race is not given to the swift nor the battle to the strong… but to those that endure to the end (added words, mine) Ecclesiastes 9:11
Beloved, take some time to reflect on what and why you’re doing things. Ask yourself if God is first in your life and if the things that are important to you are getting the attention from you they require to grow, (this includes relationships with people).
It doesn’t matter how fast you start out or how strong you may seem to be, the only thing that will matter at the end of your race is whether or not you finished what God told you to do. Make sure you are running your race, (not another’s) at a pace that will help you win.
May the Lord bless you with a balanced life,

The balance is an awesome article, what stuck out to me was the tip about some opportunities being a distraction so filter them through your GOD-given purpose. That was my AHA moment.

Thank you SO MUCH Minister Krista. I am beyond excited and couldn’t wait to share it with my Sisters In Christ at work. They were equally excited and thanked me so much for thinking of them as I do this challenge myself. They all said, it’s RIGHT ON TIME and THEY NEED BALANCE BAD!!! I just praised GOD for you all over again. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. DAY 1………………….I’m in it to win it.
