A mindset is an established set of attitudes and beliefs held by someone.
Mindsets affect every area of your life — your emotions, your judgment, and your decision-making. The way you respond to the issues of life is determined by your mindsets.
Mindsets come from the things we were taught at an early age as well as years of thinking and responding in a certain way. Mindsets are established when you embrace certain beliefs and attitudes and allow them to take root in your heart. Wrong mindsets come from the lies of the devil and the influence of people who don’t have an understanding of the truth.
Wrong mindsets enforce themselves through carnal reasoning, arguments, and opinions that have set themselves against the knowledge of God (what God says about you, your relationship with Him, and His plans for you).
Wrong mindsets become strongholds — opinions and attitudes raised against the knowledge of God — when they are embraced, allowed to take root, and acted on. They must be pulled down (2 Corinthians 10:4).
You change wrong mindsets by changing your thinking.
You change your thinking by paying attention to your thoughts and replacing wrong thoughts with God’s thoughts.
Meditating on what God says about you will change your thinking and your mindsets, and eventually transform your life.
Philippians 4:8 says: “Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
