Hosanna is of Hebrew origin, made of two words – now help.
Jesus is our help and He has already come. All we have to do is call on Him.

When Jesus came into the city of Jerusalem during holy week at the time of Passover the people recognized Him and understood that He was the One the Lord had sent to save and help them. John 12:13 says, “So they took palm branches and went to meet him. They were shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord, the king of Israel!”
The Psalmist said it this way – “Save now, I pray, O Lord; O Lord, I pray, send now prosperity. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! We have blessed you from the house of the Lord.” (Psalm 118:25-26)
The same people that cried out Hosanna were the one who later cried out with those voices, “crucify Him,” because He did not show Himself as King and Helper and in the way they thought He should (see John chapter 19).
Jesus often comes into our situations in ways that are not apparent to us. We pray and believe for Him to do something, but then it seems nothing happens or things get worse. All the while He is in the midst working thing together for our good. It’s not until we look back at times like these that we can see how He helped us and brought about our salvation.
Beloved, whenever you or I need help all we have to do is call upon the name of the Lord, because He is already here, in us and among us. Even when His presence isn’t apparent know that He is working things out for you and that He will never leave you or forsake you in whatever you go through. Help has come!
