First of all, God is a good, good Father to His daughters, to all His children really. But we all know the fathers love their daughters best.
God only does good.
It is us that needs to change our thinking about God, and not God about us. He only has good thoughts and plans for us. However, we have to open our eyes and look at all things through the lenses of His Word and His light. Even when your plans get averted and things go awry, you need to know that God wouldn’t hurt you, He wishes no ill toward you. He is not mad at you or upset with you. God is for you. He wants you to have every good thing but you have to trust in His goodness toward you.
I had a plan at the beginning of the year to do certain, in a certain time.
But if I’ve learned anything over the past few years it’s this: “A person may plan her own journey, but the Lord directs her steps,” Proverbs 16:9.
So, when my plans were averted I decided not to look at them as failures or setbacks but to be open to what the LORD might be trying to do. That led me to the decision to trash my plans and let God lead me one day at a time, one word at a time, one step at a time.
Maybe God is trying to tell you something. Selah
I thought perhaps He is trying to do something new and last year’s plan is not what He is continue to do this year. I remembered the Word of the LORD that came to me New Year’s Eve: “Plans will fail, systems will fail but it is for My glory and so that you can seek Me and find Me in a new way.”
The thing about letting go of your plans and going with God’s is that He is full of sweet surprises. But if we are not looking for the good that a change in plans can bring we can miss the sweet surprises that God wants us to enjoy.
God laughed at my plans because He had something else in mind. Hahaha!
This year I’m hosting my first IF:Local Gathering. Ha! You’re welcome to join us.
I was invited to a friend’s IF:Gathering at her local church this year to help her lead the prayer and discussion sessions . But there was a conflict in her church’s scheduled room use and she was unable to do it at her house so she came to me and said she really wanted to do it and would if she had a place to.
Instead of being disappointed with the change of plans I told her I would help in any way I could. That led to a sweet surprise. The gathering will be held at my house this year. I just remodeled and want my home to be a place where the saints are welcome and where the glory of God dwells.
I planned to have my latest book out by the end of January. Ha-ha!
I truly thought this date would work. But due to life – my kids, my mom, ministry and work among other things the book had to take a backseat because I know that this God-project can’t be rushed. However, I am confident that when it comes out it will be a blessing! I won’t make any more announcements until I have an exact date because I’m smarter than that now. LOL. But I will say it will be out very soon.
I’m planning a conference. Hahaha!
About the Presence of God, Pray, Promises, and Purity to call a generation of women willing to seek God’s face. Let’s see how this goes!
Through it all, I’ve become much clearer about what I’m supposed to be doing in this season than ever before, which in turns makes me a whole lot more focuses and not so easily distracted.
Beloved, if you your plans get averted, keep calm check with God. Maybe He has a sweet surprise in store for you.
