Circumstances beyond your control
Have you ever looked at life and realized just how little control you have over some of the circumstances and events that affect you? When that reality check kicks in it can ignite fear in us because so little is in our control and so much about life depends on other people.
Self-control
Though we cannot control certain circumstances and other people we can control ourselves and our reactions to the things going on that concern us.
When the storms of life are raging or we are hit with bad news it’s easy to forget that we can go to the Lord for help. Proverbs says, “Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken,” 3:25,26.
The Bible says, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear because fear hath torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love,” 1 John 4:18. If you learn to put your confident in God and His love for you, your circumstances nor your feelings about your circumstances will be able to control you.
The devil’s snare
The devil knows that if he can get you to speak into your fears then he can snare you because when you are afraid your words are just as powerful as when you are operating in faith. He waits for an opportunity to trip you up. The Bible says, “You are snared by the words of your mouth; you are taken by the words of your mouth,” Proverbs 6:2. He wants to trap in a cycle of defeat using your own words.
Faith for all occasions
In the midst of life’s crazy circumstances and threatening situations you still have to able to operate in faith, – the kind that shows up in the lion’s den and fiery furnace. You have to continue to speak the Word of God into every situation. Even when it looks like you are defeated you have to know that God will not forsake you. This is the kind of confidence that God expects His children to have in Him. (John 5:14-15).
Confidence in God
Beloved, you can operate in confidence even when circumstances are beyond your control knowing that God is in control, and your confidence in Him is good enough.
Affirmation: Today I am confident that the Lord will see my through whatever comes my way. Today I will speak faith in the face of fear. Today I will speak victory in the face of defeat. Today I will remember that God is for me and no weapon formed against me can or will be able to prosper.
