Developing a personal mission statement is important because it forces you to think deeply about your life, clarify your purpose, and identify what truly matters to you.
Developing a personal mission statement will also force you to clarify and express as briefly as possible your deepest values and aspirations. It will imprint your values and purposes in your mind so they become a part of you. Integration of your personal mission statement into your weekly planning is also a way to keep your vision constantly in front of you.
In the book I wrote, A Call to God’s Daughters to Step into His L.A.B. Love, Acceptance Beauty – Based on the Book of Ruth, the Lord led me to focus the last section on how to overcome the mindsets that keep us from living out our callings and enjoying our inheritance as His daughters. As I did, what came forth was a Biblical basis for having both, a personal mission statement and a motto.
Since then, I’ve had the privilege of sharing the message and steps to developing a personal mission statement in a workshop format at Christian conferences.
I truly believe the process alone is invaluable in helping you understand your mission. The final product is a tool to help you live out your calling with confidence and authenticity.
For the first time, I’m doing How to Create Your Personal Mission Statement & Motto Workshop here in San Diego at Freshly Prepped Kitchen in Bonita.
My friend Sarah is the owner. Sarah and I met at a Christian women’s retreat I spoke at using this same material a few years ago. She was catering the food. Sarah’s a Christian business owner, and her desire is to use her space for God’s glory and for His daughters to gather for God’s glory – to support one another and build the kingdom of God. I’m excited she’ll joining me for this workshop to share her personal story of how my workshop helped her.
Doing this workshop at as an half-day event rather than a short workshop gives me the time and freedom to really pour into the women that join us instead of rushing through the material.
DURING THIS FOUR-HOUR WORKSHOP, WE WILL:
1. Clarify what really matters to you and what you believe God has called you to do.
2. Get past the obstacles and limiting beliefs that stop you from seeing yourself as God sees you.
3. Create a personal mission statement that integrates all the different aspects of your life and the woman God called you to be.
4. Create a personal motto that will incorporate your guiding values and beliefs and help you stay focused on what God called you to do so you don’t get distracted by things that will lead you away from His plan.
If you live in the San Diego area and have never created a personal mission statement, I hope you decide to join us for this workshop. I only have twelve spaces.
