When you cultivate inner-beauty and merge into one existence who people see on the outside with who you really are on the inside then your mindset, your mantra, and the measure by which you judge yourself and others will change.
Mindset – Change
It is necessary for our generation of women to change the game and reestablish the God-ordained definition of beauty before it’s too late for the next generation.
For too long we’ve bought into the cultural decay of the way society has made women feel, the lies we’ve accepted about what beauty is – which make us try to be picture perfect on the outside and spend little time beautifying our hearts.
When you do the work to change the garments of your heart and become more than a pretty face or even a smart woman but you also possess the inner-substance that God says makes women truly beautiful, what your believe about yourself and the way you approach life will change for better, (Romans 12:2).
You will see yourself as an overcomer, not a victim and not a woman who has to use manipulation to get what she want. You will be able to believe that you are worthy to receive every good thing God has for you because of His grace and love for you.
Mantra – A New Song
A mantra should be a song or a chant of a personal nature that reflects your experiences and celebrates your victories. It should also include the things the Lord has done for you and who’ve you become in Him.
The song of the redeemed in the book Revelations (5:9) is one such song and there are others throughout the Bible. Mary the mother of Jesus had a victory song about what the Lord had done for her in allowing her to bring forth the Messiah and how He favored her in that (Luke 1:46-55). The Lord also sings over us with songs of deliverance, (Psalm 32:7).
A mantra should recall your past victories, stir up your faith for the future and express your gratitude for all the Lord has done for you. Having a mantra will keep you focused in faith.
Measure – God’s Standards
When you measure your beauty by God’s standards you take back the power the world stole from us to redefine women’s worth and beauty by their standards through pop-culture, social media and entertainment images.
Jesus said, “For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you,” Matthew 7:2.
When you see your worth and your beauty as inner-qualities you will stop measuring yourself and other women based on what they seem to be compared to you — prettier, smarter, if seem to have it more together or seem to have a better life.
Beloved, we are better together. Judging each other by the world’s standards strips us of whatever common ground we might share and the unity that can grow out of that. Learn to measure your beauty, that of other women and people in general by the sincerity of their heart and the love they have for God, self and others.
