Scripture tells us, “God tries the hearts and reins,” Psalm 7:9. The word, “tries” means: to test (especially metals); generally and figuratively to investigate: – examine, prove, tempt, try (trial).
Proverbs 17:3 says, “The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD tries the hearts.”
The Lord God tries our hearts to see our progress. Our reactions to situations small and big tests, investigates, proves how we are walking – in the flesh or by the Spirit.
Video Devotion – The Lord Tries the Hearts
Peter tells us, “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you,” 1 Peter 4:12.
These test show us how much we are truly being lead by His Spirit. Before we can advance spiritually, we have to pass through these tests. We do this by relying on the Holy Spirit and allowing the Him to lead us. We will always fail without His help.
Beloved my prayer for you and me is this, that we would learn to lean and depend on the Holy Spirit.
