“So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13 The power of love is that it covers and forgives sin and releases us from the punishment of sin.
God’s love is perfect toward us.
God so loved the world that while we were yet sinners Christ died to cover and forgive our sins and to release us from its punishment so that we can have an intimate relationship with Him without being rejected or ashamed.
Worshiping God is how we show Him love.
God is Love and He desires love. This is why we who are created in His image also desire love. This is why people look for love and babies/children require love to grow into emotionally healthy adults.
God made His creation to give Him love. He is surrounded by love. The angels in heaven worship God around His throne continually and the Bible says if we don’t worship God the very rocks will cry out. We are commanded to worship God in Spirit and in Truth because this is where perfect love exists. God inhabits (lives in) the praises and (worship) of His people.
Walking in love with others is a requirement for spiritual maturity because it makes us like Him.
The Bible gives us a glimpse of the God kind of love He expects His children to walk in:
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
“Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.” Luke 6:27,28
Without walking in love the power of God is held back from operating in your life, and your faith, as mountain moving as it may be, won’t work in your personal circumstance – the things your heart desires. I had to learn this by experience…
Jesus said: “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him and let it drop (leave it, let it go), in order that your Father Who is in heaven may also forgive you your [own] failings and shortcomings and let them drop. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your failings and shortcomings.” Mark 11:25, 26 AMP
Love is the greatest force in the universe because it releases the power of God.
The power of God is manifested through faith which works by love (Galatians 5:6).
The word “works” in this verse means to be active, efficient, to do, (be) effectual (fervent), be mighty in, show forth, to be operative, effectual, and powerful.
So then, faith becomes effectual, powerful, and mighty through love, and when we walk in Him (love) His power is released in our lives. This is good enough reason alone to make Love your greatest aim, (1Corinthians 14:1).
Beloved, put love to work in your life and the power of God to bring into being the things you are hoping for will be released.
