Worship God each Morning
God longs for intimacy with us. He seeks those who will trust Him enough to come into His presence for Him, knowing that it is His pleasure to give us our hearts desires. Thus, true worship is not about a beautiful song or dance or any earthly thing, it’s about a beautiful God.
True worship lifts us from the cares of the world to behold the beauty of the Lord. David said, “One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple” Psalm 27:4. This kind of worship takes the focus off of us and our problems and puts it on God who is the “I AM” of solutions. In the next verse of this Psalm David said, “For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock,” Psalm 27:5.
When we put relational worship first, we can ask God for solutions and expect answers knowing He will guide us through anything we face. This is truly the way to start your morning.
Bring to Remembrance the Promises of God each Morning
We each have covenantal promises given to every believer in Christ but we also personal promises that God gives to all that come into relationship with Him. Whatever God promises, He does not forget or go back on. However, we, as human beings can get impatient. Impatience can cause us to draw back from the promises of God and settle for less than His best. It is good to bring to remembrance the promises of God for your own sake, to keep yourself straight. Hebrews 10:23, “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” When you recite God’s promises early each morning you’re prepared for the lies of the enemy. This is how, “We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:5)
Recall Your Primary Purpose each Morning
Ephesians 2:10 says every born-again believer was created “in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” We were all created for good works, and God has specific good works for you. When you find out what those are, and begin to do them, even in small ways, you unlock your pre-ordained purpose. Once you know what your purpose is, even if you are doing something else and cannot completely walk in what God called you to do right now, recall your purpose every day. Look in the mirror and remind yourself of the good works God created you for. This will prepare you to walk in those works each day and in days ahead.
