Self-sabotage is the art of tearing down what you are trying to build.
It is the old man, our old nature that fights the hardest against the new things God wants to do. Paul put it this way,
I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin. Romans 7:21-25

Sometimes my biggest enemy is inner-me.
As human beings we have the power and authority to tear down or build simply be speaking the wrong words. The Bible tells us we can either build our homes, lives, our future or we can tear them down (Proverbs 14:1) Proverbs 6:2 says, “You are snared by the words of your mouth; you are taken by the words of your mouth.”
Anytime the Lord begins to do another thing in your live, starts to release new revelation, begins to open your mind to new way of thinking, or any other thing that will advance you resistance will come outside and within your own self.
When outside we resistance comes we can easily identify and resist it. However, when it comes from our own being in the form of doubt, fear, or rejecting the new thin, then we begin to leak and shrink back from the truth.
Beloved, we must to learn to resist the resistance that comes from within. We must press in through into our victory.
