When you said yes to the Lord
When you said yes to the Lord and gave your life to Him, you made a covenant commitment to Him. You bound yourself to Him through the New Covenant. A covenant is a legal binding agreement or contract and within legal binding contracts there are usually clauses.
A clause is a particular and separate article, stipulation, or proviso in a treaty, bill, or contract. When you said yes and the Lord bought you with a price there was a stipulation and it is found in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20:
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
You are not your own
God has not forgotten the gifts He put inside of you. If you told Him yes with your whole heart then He will be calling on you to complete your assignment in this season. If you made a vow to the Lord, even if you have forgotten He remembers it. He is stirring up the memories of the saints. This is a season when He is reminding us of the vows we made to serve Him so long ago because now, in this season, for His Kingdom sake He has need of the gifts He put in us when we said yes.
God’s timing is perfect
You may have given up on what God put inside of you as just a dream of the past but God has not. He was saving it for such a time as this. You may be doing something else with your life right now but God is about to wake up your dream and stir up your gift. The promise of Kingdom that is inside of you is about to come fruition. You will be used anew. You gift will be called of the shelf.
Prepare
God is calling us to lay aside every weight and sin that so easily besets us and come into a new level of consecration. It’s like when He called the disciples and they left everything they were doing to follow Him. Then He began to prepare them for the level of ministry they would enter ahead. You may not think you are prepared but when you began to follow Him He starting preparing you then.
Even though it seemed you were on hold, and you like the disciples after His death may have gone back to what you were doing before you started following Him, remember He appeared to them again with instructions. He told them to go into Jerusalem and wait for power to do the work for which He originally called them in the posture of prayer and consecration.
The instructions
Now are His instructions coming forth to you again: Master your habits, master your flesh, master yourself. Set aside time to seek Him in prayer and worship daily, not just with a hand out but a hand up. He has open doors for you that you can get into by following Him.
Beloved, He will lead you into the place and give you the grace to do exploits for the Kingdom you’ve only dreamed of in times past.
